LEARNING SUPPORT
Learning Support takes on many different forms. By Learning Support here, we refer to the support offered by the MPS learning support therapists during school hours.
Learners who are referred to the School Based Support Team (SBST) and who are deemed in need of and likely to benefit from learning support, will be referred to the MPS Learning Support therapists.
Depending on availability and the level of need, your child may be allocated a place in one of the small groups which are taken out of class and given specialized learning support once or twice a week.
Learners attending these groups will be required to perform follow-up tasks at home and parent/ guardian support is essential in ensuring the success of the programme.
Learners attending learning support may be required to attend additional therapies/ support lessons if they are likely to benefit from the additional support.
It is important to remember that some support is likely to be on-going and may require a long-term commitment by all those involved.
